Green Skills Now: Inclusive Green Skills to build VET capacity for a sustainable future
Continent: Latin America (Colombia and Ecuador)
Duration: 24 months (January 2025 – December 2026)
In a rapidly changing world, where fundamental transformations are urgently needed to preserve (human) life on the planet, learners need a different set of skills: not only to fulfil the requirement of future (green) jobs but also, to contribute to a socially, economically- and environmentally-just society.
The Erasmus Plus project Green Skills Now, addresses the growing need for professionals with required green skills for successful participation in the emerging green economy. With co-funding of the European Commission, the project contributes to sustainable development by building inclusive, market-driven Vocational Education and Training (VET) and by enhancing the green skills and capacities of two VET providers – Servicio Ecuatoriano de Capacitación Profesional (SECAP) and Fundación Colombia Incluyente (CI) – respectively in Ecuador and Colombia.
The specific objective is to develop and incorporate the Inclusive Green Skills Curriculum into the training offered by the two VET institutions, ensuring that youth are equipped with the skills required for sustainable economic growth, decent work opportunities, gender equality, and environmental protection.
