Responsive, Innovative and Inclusive vocational education and training in transport and logistics in Colombia and Costa Rica (VET_LOGICC)
Continent: South America
Coastal countries, and more specifically their seaports and related multimodal supply chain, are experiencing great uncertainties, shifts in its operations, growing risks and decreasing returns, and may require new sorts of public-private partnerships and port governance in the near future. The future changes in the port industry will require stakeholders within the transport community to develop new skills, an understanding of new business thinking, and a fresh capacity to promote innovation.
Vocational education and training (VET) can play a crucial role to ensure this since it provides young people with the skills that will make them employable, enhance their livelihoods, and create wealth. It also provides specific skills training for those who are already in the labour market and need to upgrade or develop new competencies to enhance chances for employment and/or improve productivity in a constantly changing and full of challenges environment.
With the VET_LOGICC project, funded by the European Commission’s Erasmus+ programme, CINOP and it’s partners (STC International, CunLimon, SENA, and Universidad del Norte aim to reinforce the Vocational education and training (VET) system in two Latin-American coastal countries (Costa Rica and Colombia). These VET systems will be relevant for the maritime transport and international trading thanks to a 3-axis methodology based on Education & innovation, governance and the relationship with the labour market. The project will contribute to the development, employment and economic growth in Colombia and Costa Rica by means of developing an inclusive and sustainable network of educational and sectoral institutions as well as better equipped individuals and organizations in the transport, logistics and port sectors.

The following objectives have been defined:
